When thinking about replacement basement windows you should think about if you want the same type of window or if you want to go with something else. I have seen a lot of homeowner put in different types because they think they will be better.

I have decided to go with slider windows in my basement because I think that you can let in some of the fresh air and they are easy to open. My neighbor went with the vinyl casement windows when he replaced his because he wanted to be able to have his windows open when it was raining. They way his casement windows open, it helps to block the rain and that was a very smart move on his part.

I wish that I would have thought it through prior to choosing the slider windows because every time it is hot and raining, I have to close mine or it will flood the basement. The neighbor finally admitted to me that he had noticed that I closed my slider windows every time it rained and the neighbor on the other side of him with the vinyl casement windows always left them open. He had learned from my mistake.
