Impressing the Boss
The boss called us up one day for a meeting regarding the purchase of new equipment for the office. It was a great time to open up the upgrade that I have been planning to do for the office network. I really wanted to buy brand new IBM Storage servers for our requirements however it might not be approved due to the high costs of procuring one.
I was able to get the attention of the boss and explained why we needed to implement IBM SAN solutions to the network upgrade that I was planning. However, he was reluctant when I gave him the figures when he asked how much it was going to cost the company. With that, he advised me that I either scrap the project completely or look for another way to do the upgrade without costing too much.
One of my colleagues suggested that we check online to see if we can source used IBM products that are refurbished. We did just that and we were able to find a reliable supplier that could provide us with the needed equipment. We got the go signal to order from them and we are now enjoying an improved network thanks to them.
